Il nuovo dottore : Gregor Weiermüller

Gregor Weiermüller ha difeso la tesi di Dottorato in Filosofia sul tema “Die Transformationen der Jüdischen Identitätsfrage : Eine ‘Debatte’ in der Philosophie von Franz Rosenzweig und Emil Ludwig Fackenheim” il 20 giugno, al Pontificio Ateneo Sant’Anselmo. Il moderatore era Prof. Andrea Grillo. Lui ha laureato con grado summa cum laude.


On Wednesday, 20 June, at the Pontifical Atheneum of Sant’Anselmo, Gregor Weiermüller successfully defended his doctoral thesis, entitled, “The Transformations of the Jewish Identity Question: A ‘Debate’ in the Philosophy of Franz Rosenzweig and Emil Ludwig Fackenheim.” He graduated from the Philosophy of Religion doctoral program summa cum laude.

Weiermüller received his Allgemeine Hochschulreife (the diploma from German secondary school qualifying for university entrance) at the Burggymnasium Essen, which was founded in the ninth century.

Following his bachelor degree in Applied Philosophy and History at the University of Duisburg-Essen with a thesis about POWs in the German industry during the First World War, Weiermüller studied Philosophy of Religion in the second cycle of Sant’Anselmo’s Philosophy program. In addition, he began to study theology, especially Judaic Studies and social sciences, at the Pontifical Gregorian University. He wrote his licentiate’s thesis about theodicy in Hans Jonas and Emil Ludwig Fackenheim and graduated magna cum laude.

In the near future, he plans to work either as a federal employee, in the economy or in a charitable institution.
